Meet Allison Rose, MHS, CPT, E-RYT 500hrs
Founder of Earth and Ojas

Hi! I'm Allison. I've been at this wellness game for decades, since I first began my own wellness journey at the age of 14 years.  Like too many young girls, I suffered from an eating disorder and initially movement was a part of my illness. However, by the time I reached my college years, MOVEMENT became my MEDICINE. Since then, I've expanded my focus on cardio and strength training to include other healing modalities, including various styles of yoga, meditation and breathwork, and the wisdom of Ayurveda--yoga's sister science, also known as the science of life.

My unique blend of fitness, coaching and yoga, with a specialty in healthy and sustainable weight management provides my bad-ass female counter-parts with the opportunity to slow down, get grounded and reclaim their strength and vitality.  My approach is one-of-a-kind -- a seamless blend of Western-based health and weight management science, including evidence-based behavior change tools and practices, and the intuitive wisdom and science of Eastern (Ayurveda) medicine.

Are you ready to get started?

More about me...

Based out of St. Petersburg, Florida, I work with clients and teach classes both online and in-person. Together with each client, we customize a personalized and integrative wellness program that results in clients enjoying new levels of energy and strength needed to live life fully. My approach is largely influenced by years of experience as a health and fitness professional and yoga teacher, combined with my education and career in public health, which taught me the importance of using an evidence-based approach along with the research skills to be able to better understand the science of behavior change and chronic disease.

I've been coaching remotely with the National Center for Weight and Wellness Center in Washington DC since 2017. As the NCWW Fitness Specialist, I partner with a multi-disciplinary team of medical professionals to provide patients with a uniquely tailored wellness program that addresses the medical, behavioral, nutritional, psychological, and lifestyle aspects of weight management. I support our patients with 1:1 behavioral coaching and in group sessions addressing topics such as behavior change processes, motivation, goal setting, sleep, stress management, physical activity, and my favorite -- supporting women in the menopause transition.

I also teach monthly yoga classes and lead wellness seminars for the National Institutes of Health, and I've been an invited guest speaker on expert panels, providing evidence-based presentations on a variety of health and wellness topics such as:

  • strategies to improve sleep quantity and quality

  • restorative practices to boost the relaxation response and manage stress

  • lifestyle factors to prevent and manage chronic disease

  • Ayurveda lifestyle practices and seasonal eating habits to improve digestive health, the gut microbiome, and mental well-being

Prior to moving to the Sunshine State, I had the honor of serving members of the US Congress as a lead trainer & fitness program creator. My last legacy was launching bi-partison yoga and spinning classes, which continue to this day!

I completed my studies in Ayurveda at Kripalu Center for Health and Yoga, and my yoga teaching experience includes teaching Vinyasa Flow, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. I've also served as faculty for extendYoga's 200-hour yoga teacher training program -- voted Best Yoga Studio in Bethesda, MD (2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023).

When I'm not working or teaching a class, you can find me working out at the gym, on my yoga mat, walking (or swimming!) with my German Shepherd, Stevie (Nicks)--or shopping at my one of my favorite health food stores for a home cooked meal or my other passion --  essential oils and skin care products.
